How To Make High Glossy Polishing On Granite With Dry Polishing Pads

Some customer said that it is difficult to achieve a high gloss by dry polishing. However, just before the final finish by adding a little bit time and strokes, you can improve the gloss dramatically. And of course, you need to use high quality dry granite pads.
An demonstration on granite dry pad polishing on Youtube is carried out on black granite, using dry pads on a 3000-3500rpm electric hand polisher. Different grit size of diamond pads are used and they are in grit sizes of 60#, 200#, 500#, 1000#, 2000# and 3000#.
1) 18 seconds for first 60#polishing pads, back and forth movement for the polishing,
2) by a 200# polishing pads on second process, quickly move back and forth, 23 seconds on 200#,
3) And then using a 500# dry pads, 36 seconds polishing and the glossy is now at 3.2;
4) 40 seconds for the 1000# polishing pads, move carefully on back and forth, and now the gloss is about 31.8;
5) use 2000# granite pads, polishing for 62 second and the gloss now reach 76.7;
6) 3000# granite dry pads for the last polishing step and taking about 82 seconds, now the gloss up to 97.0;
For a fine gloss, not only final process but before the final will be quite important. Each dry pads contains diamonds which work as a blade to grind down the surface, but the size of these diamonds will be quite different in each grit. Each grit has its own roll in polishing, so if you are seeking for a good shinning surface, we recommend you to proceed step by step and not to skip the grits too much, and to take time on middle to coarse polishing, speed is important but no need to rush for getting a high gloss polishing on granite.
